Update 3.29.2016  We have had 2 opportunities to test the system which were out of the ordinary. The first was a rain day which went superbly and didn't require the use of the megaphone for the PMK testers.  The second was during a Track & Field Event hosted by HPA.  Even with limited parking for Park and Walk parents and more street congestion, PMK testers staggered their pick up times to help improve the dismissal process.  Now that we are moving into the 4th month of testing, teachers, staff, and parents appear to be more in sync with the whole system.  Finally, we have coordinated with the 3rd party vendors who pick up multiple students and have them onboard.

Update 3.9.2016  The 4th grade is now LIVE.  We are now pushing out 40 vehicles and 60 students in about 15 minutes.  We are utilizing 8 spots specifically for the PMK Loading Zone and that has helped alleviate the Eaton Canyon Car Line issue somewhat.  We are working on getting 3rd party vendors onboard with us to help their car service be more efficient while at HPA.  Kudos to Pick Up Kids for registering all 10 of their HPA students.  Another kudos to PMK staff who made a change to their app based on one of our parent suggetions, and they did it in less than week. That BACK button you see after hitting ANNOUNCE was changed from Cancel which confused many users.  Yay us!

Update 2.29.2016  Mr. Mejia and Mr. Anderson are now in training mode. They have begun working with their iPads.  We have increased the PMK Loading Zone to 6 spots and hope to increase up to 8 by the end of the week.  Those bright PINK squares are helping us identify you especially if you are in the regular car line.  When we begin with the 4th grade next Monday, March 7, parents will need to utilize the PMK Car Line on Eaton Canyon.  Please consider staggering your pick up time.  Third and fourth graders will be dismisssed beginning 3:00 PM.

Update 2.22.2016 We went LIVE today.  Not bad.  PMK app was flawless.  Us humans however need more on the job training.  Nonetheless, parents who are helping test the app are excited.  Five minutes or less waiting time to pick up their children brought smiles.  I know some parents who are avid park and walk individuals had me change their app default to car line on the spot.  The 4 spot PMK Loading Zone went smoothly, the PMK car line will have issues.  Cars normally parked on Eaton Canyon (Fire station side)  are making it difficult to navigate smoothly.  We will continue to look for other possible solutions.

Update 2.20.2016  We go LIVE Monday, February 22.  PMK testers now have their OWN Loading Zone and separate car line!  The test period will continue until June 2016.  We hope to add 4th grade, 2nd grade, and 5th grade in the upcoming weeks.  While our primary focus right now is the car line, we will implement the park and walk students once the PMK parents get into a rhythm.  Please remember WE are all learning this system together.  Mr. Mejia and Mr. Anderson along with Mrs. Flanagan and Mrs. Woodward are helping to test our system.

Email notices have been sent to the 4th grade and 2nd grade notices will go out in another week.

Update 2.10.2016  Our lack of wi-fi access in the front of the school has been resolved.  We now have about 100 yards of coverage. The 3rd grade teachers have been instructed on how to use their admin consoles to help us dismiss the students.  We are still on track to begin LIVE testing Monday, February 22.  If all continues to go well, we will begin working with the 4th grade class.  Thus far the PikMyKid software is working as promised.  We are keeping track of suggestions for improvements in the app.  Keep up the great work parents.

Update 2.04.2016  Email notification has been sent out to 3rd grade families to help us test the app. We are hoping for FULL grade participation.   Due date for family registration is February 17.  LIVE testing set for Monday, February 22.

We have been testing the Delegation/Instituition function which allows parents to "hand off" their children to either other family/HPA parents or to HPA Eagle Club/after school activities.  This can all be completed within the app and it is not necessary to call Mrs. Shankwiler for changes in the pickup.

Update 1.24.2016.  We began testing the parent notification procedures today and both systems are GO (they worked!).  Will begin testing Monday, January 25 with the Announce system and looking to see how the GPS tracks cars in the queue and those who park and walk. We will be evaluating for two weeks before moving ahead with more rigorous testing.

Update 1.14.2016   We are halfway to reaching our test group. Thank you.  Working on tutorial for PikMyKid App set up and understanding the interface.  Designing signage for car line and parking lot.

Testing SET to begin January 25.

Update 1.09.2016   Begin volunteer registration process to participate in our pilot program for PikMyKid.
